Obesity develops when we eat more calories than we expend in physical activity. Although we have inherent physiological mechanisms that can control our energy balance, it is apparent that we often over-eat and consume more calories than we need.
Why do we do this? Does food have rewarding properties, and can stress make us eat more?
With both clinical and experimental expertise, the thirteen partners from across Europe who are members of the EU funded project, NeuroFAST, aim to investigate the common neurobiology involved in eating behavior, addiction and stress.
