NeuroFAST scientists are at the forefront of broadening public engagement. Massive open online courses (MOOCs) represent a new approach to higher education where short, high quality, interactive courses are made available online at no cost for participants. UEDIN recently ran a MOOC on critical thinking, including a module using the concept of “food addiction” as a basis for discussion. The course attracted over 75,000 participants from across the globe and has been adopted by Universitas21 as a teaching tool. The course will run again in Jan 2014.
